Hero Extreme 160R 2V launched in India: Updated bike gets features like drag race timer and single-channel ABS, priced at ₹1.11 lakh

Hero MotoCorp launched the Hero Extreme 160R 2V in the Indian market yesterday (September 10). The Indian two-wheeler maker recently launched the 2024 model of the Hero Extreme 160R 4V, after which it has now introduced the updated version of the Hero Extreme 160R 2V. After the update, the company has priced the bike at Rs 1.11 lakh ex-showroom, which is Rs 28 thousand cheaper than the Extreme 160R 4V. The bike is now equipped with features like drag race timer, single-channel ABS, tail-light and a single-piece seat like the Extreme 160R 4V. It will compete against the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar N150 (₹1.25 lakh) and Yamaha FZ range of bikes (₹1.17 lakh-₹1.30 lakh). 2024 Hero Extreme 160R 2V: Design and Hardware 2024 Hero Extreme 160R 2V is available in only one variant with black color. Hero has now done away with the split-seat and replaced it with a single-piece seat1 for a comfortable ride. At the front, LED headlights and daytime running lights are available. The company has given the new Extreme 160R 2V a new tail section with a new rear panel and a new taillight design. The taillight also has an emergency stop signal, which flashes when emergency braking is applied. The bike now also features a drag timer on the instrument console, through which the speed of the bike can be measured. The bike is built on a diamond type frame. It now gets a KYB inverted fork and a 7-step preload-adjustable monoshock. For braking, the bike has disc brakes with single channel ABS at the front and drum brakes at the rear. The bike gets 17-inch alloy wheels shod with 100/80 tubeless tires at the front and 130/70 tubeless tires at the rear. The seat height is 795mm and the Extreme weighs 145 kg with a 12-litre tank. 2024 Hero Extreme 160R 2V: Engine Specifications The engine of the bike remains unchanged. It has a 163.2CC single-cylinder oil-cooled engine, which generates 15hp of power at 8,500 and 14Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. This engine is tuned with a 5-speed gearbox unit. The bike is OBD-2 compliant and capable of running on E20 petrol (20% ethanol mix petrol).
