Graveton Quanta electric bike launched, priced at ₹ 1.12 lakh: India's first all-terrain electric bike with LMFP battery, claims 125km range

Graveton Motor has launched the Quanta electric bike in India on November 29. The company claims that the Quanta is India's first all-terrain electric bike with a Lithium Manganese Iron Phosphate (LMFP) battery. The Graveton Quanta bike is priced at Rs 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Ola S1 and Aether 450X.

design The Graveton Quanta has a moped-like design and is available in two color options: white and red. Unlike the original moped, the Quanta has no floorboards and has footpegs on both sides of the motorcycle. A beefy-mid section and a slim tail section make the Quanta a good fit for a moped. Alloy wheels on both sides and Quanta badging make the motorcycle stand out.

Battery and range The Graveton Quanta is powered by a 2.78kWh LMFP battery which Graveton claims will give a range of 125km on a full charge. The motorcycle has three riding modes: Eco, Power and Sports mode that vary in power output and range. Graveton claims that the Quanta will offer a range of 125km in Eco mode, 100km in Power mode and 85km in Sports mode. The Quanta will charge from 0-80 percent in 90 minutes and can be charged anywhere from a 3-pin socket.

Performance and support The Graveton Quanta has a wheel mounted motor that produces 3kW and 170Nm which propels it to a claimed top-speed of 75kmph. The Quanta is built on a trellis frame chassis and has a curb weight of 113.6kg. It has telescopic forks and twin-shock absorbers, while for braking, 17-inch alloy wheels are fitted with disc brakes on both sides. It has a modest ground clearance of 183 mm and an accessible seat height of 785 mm.

Features The Qanta features all-LED lighting, an LCD instrument cluster that allows for three riding modes and smartphone connectivity via the Qanta app. The Quanta app monitors battery health, charge status and range, enables remote access to specific features such as starting or stopping the bike and its location. It can also send notifications about possible unauthorized access or tampering.
