BMW India has launched the 2024 BMW M340i sports sedan in the Indian market. The company claims that it can accelerate from 0-100kmph in just 4.4 seconds, making it the fastest BMW car and made-in-India ICE car in the country.
The car is priced at Rs 74.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Customers can book it online or by visiting the dealership and its deliveries will start soon. The BMW M340i competes with the likes of the Audi S5 Sportback and the Mercedes AMG-C43.
Based on the standard 3 Series, this sporty sedan was first launched by the company in India in 2021 and then introduced in December 2022 after a minor update. Now the car has been launched with some cosmetic updates, new color options and advanced features.
Exterior: Arctic Race Blue and Fire Red will be the new colors. The luxury sedan now comes with 19-inch alloy wheels in Jet Black color and adaptive suspension. The car will have two new color options, Arctic Race Blue and Fire Red. Apart from this, Dravid Gray and Black Sapphire color options are also available.
The sedan gets sporty front and rear bumpers, BMW 3 Series-like dual L-shaped LED daytime running lamps, sleek LED headlights, wraparound LED taillights, M specific ORVM housings and M specific kidney grille with black finishing.
Interior: 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster Inside the car, the dashboard design and over-all layout remains the same, but now the operating system has been updated from 8.0 to 8.5. BMW has introduced Vernasca leather seats with contrasting M (blue) stitching and the three-spoke steering has minor changes as well.
Other features include a free-standing curved instrument panel with a 14.9-inch curved touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Apart from this, the car has features like ambient lighting, three-zone automatic climate control, front and rear parking sensors and a 464 watt Harman Kardon sound system.
For safety, it gets 8 airbags, Cornering Brake Control (CBC), 360-degree camera and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
Performance: 3.0 liter turbocharged straight-six, petrol engine The updated BMW M340i sports sedan has no mechanical changes. For performance, it has a 3.0 liter turbocharged straight-six petrol engine, which generates 374hp of power and 500Nm of peak torque. For transmission, the engine is tuned with an 8-speed gearbox.
The car comes with a 4 wheel drive option. The company claims that the car accelerates from 0-100kmph in just 4.4 seconds, making it the fastest Made in India BMW car and the fastest ICE car. BMW says the car's suspension can be lowered by 10mm.
