Metabolism is very important for the body. It depends on how the body processes food and converts it into energy. Although metabolism depends in part on genetics, adopting certain lifestyle habits can help keep it active and healthy. Like limited amount of green tea or coffee and 7 to 8 hours of sleep daily helps in this.
Include protein rich foods in the diet
Protein is extremely important for good metabolism because the body needs more calories to digest protein and less calories to digest fats or carbohydrates. Protein also helps build and maintain muscle, which is essential to keep metabolism active. For this, include eggs, cheese, pulses, gram etc. in the diet.
Do HIIT, strength training High-intensity exercise (HIIT) with short breaks is effective in keeping the metabolism strong. Not only does it burn calories faster during exercise but it also speeds up the metabolism afterwards. Similarly, strength training is also an effective way to boost metabolism.
Walk more, be active
If you have a sitting job or a lot of sitting work, use the stairs instead of the elevator. Go for a walk during your lunch break. Whenever you talk on the phone, try to walk around. Do gentle stretching or yoga at your desk. Prolonged sitting slows down the metabolism. In such a situation, even these small activities activate it.
