One of the biggest shortages people have in today's busy lives is time. Some people are so busy with their daily schedule that they don't even find time to eat. Hence, when we sit down to eat, we swallow the food hastily instead of chewing it comfortably. As if eating is not a need of the body but a compulsion. According to the study, people who eat in a hurry have an 11.6% higher risk of developing metabolic syndrome, which can cause several serious health problems. Answer- Obesity is one of the biggest health problems worldwide today. One of the reasons for this is fast food. In fact, eating fast slows down the digestive process, which gives the body no time to digest food and causes fat to accumulate. Apart from this, eating in a hurry reduces the level of a hormone called leptin, which makes you want to eat more. This hormone controls appetite. This is the reason why eating in haste increases the risk of obesity. Q- Why does eating in a hurry increase the risk of diabetes? Answer- When we eat food in a hurry, the body increases the risk of insulin resistance, which leads to high blood sugar and insulin levels. Doing this for a long time can lead to diabetes. Q- How beneficial is eating slowly for the body? Answer: If you eat slowly and chew your food more, it improves digestion. Actually, the process of digestion starts from our mouth itself. Generally, a healthy person should take at least 25 to 30 minutes to eat food. It will provide the body with all the necessary nutrients and reduce the risk of diseases. Question- How can people who have the habit of eating in a hurry get rid of this habit? Answer: Mindful eating is the most important thing to get rid of fast eating habit. That means, concentrate fully on your food while eating. Most of our senses are active while eating food. First our hand feels its texture, then our tongue feels its texture and taste. Meanwhile, the aroma of food is also felt. So if we eat mindfully it is like meditation. This can be a stress buster. Take breaks between meals If you have a habit of eating quickly, take short breaks between meals. For example, if you eat with a fork or spoon, put your spoon or fork down between each bite. This allows you to control the speed of your eating.
