How do we know how smart and clever someone is? In everyday life, experience alone tells us how knowledgeable a person is. But psychologists use IQ or Intelligence Quotient to measure it. Intelligence Quotient means how fast a person's mind works. How sharp his memory is, how quickly and clearly he understands something and implements it. The higher the IQ of a person, the more intelligent he is considered to be. But new research shows that IQ is insufficient to measure someone's intelligence. According to this research, in many cases EQ i.e. emotional intelligence can prove to be more important than IQ. So, today in Relationship Story we will talk about the requirements of Emotional Intelligence i.e. EQ and some ways to increase it. What is emotional intelligence and why is it so important? Identifying Your Emotions Will Increase Emotional Intelligence Emotional labeling is a technique in which you practice identifying and naming your emotions. It helps you understand and control your emotions better. Emotional intelligence can be improved with its help. During emotional labeling, you identify your feelings and name them, such as I'm happy, anxious, or sad right now. The purpose of this technique is to recognize and accept your feelings rather than suppress or change them. Emotional labeling helps you connect with your emotions and understand them better, so you can make better decisions in your life and improve your relationships. Express feelings with words or maps To understand yourself better and improve your emotional intelligence, create a map of your feelings, in which you express feelings through different colors and pictures. Also practice writing down your feelings, so you can understand them better. Understand and Balance Emotional Reactions Try to understand your emotional reactions, such as why you react a certain way in a certain situation. After this, try to balance your emotions as well, in which you learn to control your emotions. By adopting these tips, you can increase your emotional intelligence and improve your life.
