The first winter session of the 18th Lok Sabha will begin on November 25. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju gave this information on Tuesday. The session will continue till December 20.
It is likely to introduce several bills including One Nation-One Election and Waqf Bill. Apart from this, the proposal to give full state status to Jammu and Kashmir can also be passed.
The first monsoon session of the 18th Lok Sabha ran from July 22 to August 9. A total of 15 meetings were held in the entire session lasting approximately 115 hours. The productivity of the house during the session was 136%.
In the same session, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2024-2025 in the House on July 23. The debate lasted for a total of 27 hours and 19 minutes, in which 181 members participated. A total of 65 private members' bills were also introduced in the session.
Apart from this, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that landslides, floods and loss of life in many parts of the country were also discussed during this session. India's preparations for the Olympics were also discussed.

Jaishankar said in the Parliament – Hindus were attacked in Bangladesh
On August 6, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar made a statement in both houses of Parliament on the latest situation in Bangladesh. He said that the neighboring country is facing a political crisis. The Government of India is closely monitoring the situation there.
Jaishankar further said that people are on the streets in Bangladesh. Hindus have been targeted there. This is a matter of concern. The protesters also attacked the police, after which the situation worsened. He also said that Sheikh Hasina sought permission to come to India after her resignation. After this the Government of India arranged for their arrival.
The External Affairs Minister further said that the Government of India is in touch with its citizens in Bangladesh. At present there are about 19 thousand Indians present there, out of which 9000 are students. Minorities are being targeted there. Whatever government is formed in Bangladesh, there is a demand that the High Commission of India should be protected.

- The Indian High Commissioner at Dhaka and the Associate High Commissioner at Chittagong are constantly sending us reports. We are concerned about the security of the minority community in Bangladesh. A lot has changed there in the last 24 hours. This is a very sensitive issue. We want the support of the House on this issue.
- Bangladesh is very close to us. There has been tension since January. There was violence in Bangladesh in June-July. We were in touch with the political parties there. Attacks on minorities are a major concern there. Sheikh Hasina is currently in India. We are in touch with the Indian community. Many students have returned. We will provide security to our citizens.
