The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Waqf Bill will visit 5 states next week. This decision has been taken so that the committee can submit its report on time.
However, there are several cases when the date of submission of reports of the committees has been extended, but the chairperson of the committee, BJP MP Jagdambika Pal, wants to submit the report within the stipulated time limit.
JPC members will interact with their Minority Affairs Department, Law Department, Minority Commission and Wakf Board in these five state capitals. It will also meet other stakeholders including Bar Council and Muttavalli Association.

The committee is scheduled to submit its report on the last day of the first week of the winter session of Parliament. Next month, the winter session is starting from November 25.
There was a huge uproar in the meeting on Tuesday There was a huge ruckus between the opposition MPs and the Delhi Waqf Board in the meeting held a day ago on Tuesday. Opposition MPs said it was illegal to allow the Delhi Waqf Board to give a presentation without the permission of the Delhi government.
The Wakf Board is under the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Delhi, so any report of the Wakf Board needs approval from the government. The Wakf Board ignored this. The JPC after speaking to the Lok Sabha Secretary General allowed the Delhi Waqf Board to make the presentation without the approval of the Delhi government.
