Voting begins in 90 assembly seats of Haryana: Khattar casts first vote, 1031 candidates in the fray

Voting began at 7 am on 90 assembly seats in 22 districts in Haryana. Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was the first to vote in Karnal.

Voting will continue till 6 pm. The result will come on 8th October. The total electorate in the state is 2.03 crore. In which there are 1.07 crore male and 95 lakh female voters.

1031 candidates are contesting in this election, including 930 male and 101 female candidates. There are 462 independent candidates, including 421 male and 41 female candidates. For the first time in the state, apart from the Congress and the BJP, the big five political parties Janayak Janata Party (JJP), Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are in the fray.

All other parties except BJP and AAP are contesting elections in alliance with other parties. Congress has formed an alliance with CPI-M on one seat. JJP is contesting the election in alliance with MP Chandrashekhar Azad's party Azad Samaj Party (ASP) and INLD Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar cast the vote

Voting has started from 7 am in all the seats of Haryana. Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was the first to vote. He cast his vote at booth number 182 in Prem Nagar, Karnal.
