Protests that started after the bodies of a woman and two children were found in Manipur turned violent on Saturday. Protesters attacked the houses of three state government ministers and six BJP MLAs in Maiitei-dominated Imphal Valley. The agitated mob also targeted the houses of minister Sapam Ranjan, son-in-law of CM Biren Singh and BJP MLA RK Imo Singh. Late at night, the angry mob also reached Chief Minister Biren Singh's residence.
Security forces had to fire tear gas shells and fire in the air to disperse the protesters. In view of the deteriorating situation, curfew has been imposed in 5 districts. Also, internet has been stopped in 7 districts.
Meanwhile, 19 BJP MLAs, including several ministers, have written to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) demanding Biren Singh's removal. According to sources, if the situation worsens in the next two-three days, President's rule may be imposed in the state.
The bodies of two women and a child were found on the banks of Barak river in Jiribam on Saturday. It is suspected that he was abducted by Kuki militants from Jiribam on November 11. On the same day, security forces killed 10 gun-wielding militants. While Kuki-Jo organization called these 10 people as village guards. Also, bodies of a woman and two children were found on Friday night.

Due to the protests, a curfew has been imposed in five Ghati districts of Manipur, while internet has been banned in seven districts for two days from 5:15 pm on Saturday. These districts are- Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Kangpokpi and Churachandpur.
In fact, on November 11, armed militants in uniform attacked the Borobreka police station complex and the CRPF camp. In which 10 extremists were killed.
Meanwhile, 6 people were abducted from a relief camp located in Borobreka police station premises in Jiribam district. The three bodies found on Friday are believed to be those of the missing people.

Mizoram government expressed grief over Manipur violence
The Mizoram government has appealed to the Center and the Manipur government to take immediate steps to stop the violence and restore peace. The Mizoram Home Department expressed its condolences to the families of those killed and the injured. The government has asked the people of Mizoram not to do anything that would increase tension here.
About 7,800 people from Manipur have taken refuge in Mizoram due to the violence. These people belong to the Kuki-Jo community, which has close cultural ties with the Mizo community of Mizoram.

Kuki community protests over dead bodies of Kuki extremists in Assam A dispute broke out between the police and people from the Kuki community outside the Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH) in Assam on Saturday morning, after which the police lathi-charged the people.
In fact, relatives of 10 militants killed in an encounter with security forces in Manipur's Jiribam district protested outside the hospital demanding their bodies.
The Assam Police tried to convince them that the bodies would be handed over to the Manipur Police, but the family members pelted stones demanding that the bodies be handed over there.

Kuki organizations have claimed that those killed were not extremists. All were volunteers from Kuki Village. It also said that the CRPF should not leave its camp in view of the incident on Tuesday.
IGP Operations Ike Muivah dismissed the claims of the organisations. He said all those killed had advanced weapons. They all came here to create chaos. This proves that they were all extremists.
On the comments made by Kuki community on CRPF he said – Police and security forces are working under Government of India. They always work under the guidance of various agencies. Security agencies like police and CRPF will continue to function as per their duty.

Extremists attacked police station-CRPF camp The Borobekera Police Station in Jakurador Karong area of Jiribam district was attacked by Kuki extremists on November 11 between 2.30 pm and 3 pm. Security forces killed 10 militants in retaliatory firing.
Near the police station is a relief camp for people displaced by the Manipur violence. People living here have become targets of Kuki extremists. The camp had been attacked before.
According to officials, the militants wore uniforms like soldiers. 3 AK rifles, 4 SLRs, 2 Insas rifles, one RPG, 1 pump action gun, BP helmet and magazines were recovered from them.
After attacking the police station, the militants fled to a small settlement a kilometer away, security forces said. There, houses and shops were also set on fire. Security forces opened fire on the militants.
After the encounter, the dead bodies of the militants were kept at one place.
The farmer was killed As early as November 11, militants fired from a hilltop on farmers working in the fields in Manipur's Yaingangpokpi Shantikhongban area, killing one farmer and injuring several others.
The police said that the militants in the area have been firing from the hills to the lower areas. Farmers working in the fields are being targeted. Farmers are afraid to go to the fields due to the attack.
Heavy ammunition seized in 3 days in Imphal Assam Rifles said that several arms, ammunition and IEDs were seized by the security forces during a search operation in the hill and valley districts of Manipur.
