Two encounters in Jammu and Kashmir in three hours: first in Jabarwan and second in Kishtwar; 3 para special force personnel injured

An encounter is going on in Jammu-Kashmir on Sunday morning in two places within just 3 hours. First in Jabarwan area of ​​Srinagar and second in Chhas of Kishtwar. Three para special force jawans have been injured in the Kishtwad encounter. Officials say Kashmir Tigers group militants are hiding in Kishtwar, who killed two village guards.

This is the third encounter between security forces and militants in the last 18 hours. While this is the 8th encounter in 10 days of the month of November. In which a total of 8 terrorists have been killed so far.

Earlier on the evening of November 9, security forces killed a terrorist in Sopore of Baramulla. On November 8, security forces also killed two terrorists. An encounter is also going on in the forests of Rampur.

2-3 terrorists were hiding in the forests of Jabarwan Kashmir Zone Police said in a post on X that on Sunday morning security forces received information about 2-3 terrorists hiding in Jabarwan. Following this, the army and police conducted a joint search operation at 9 am in the forest connecting the upper reaches of Dachigam and Nishat.

The terrorists started firing on the jawans. After which security forces retaliated. Encounter is going on now.

Terrorist incidents and encounters in the last 9 days in the valley

  • November 9-: Army kills a terrorist in Sopore: Information was received that 2-3 terrorists are hiding in Rampur forest. A joint search operation by the security forces has been going on since then. Meanwhile, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces. One terrorist was killed in the retaliatory firing.
  • 8 November- Search operation conducted in Sagipora and Panipora: 2 terrorists killed by security forces in Sopore. The army conducted a search operation in Sagipora and Panipora. Encounters were going on in these areas of Sopore since the night of November 7. There were reports of 2-3 terrorists hiding here. Kashmir IGP VK Birdi said that 2 terrorists have been killed in this operation. A large quantity of arms and ammunition and incriminating documents were recovered from them.
  • November 7- Jaish terrorists kill 2 village guards: Terrorists killed 2 village defense guards in Adhwari area of ​​Kishtwar. The police said that the militants abducted a village defense guard who had gone to graze cattle in the Munjala Dhar forest and shot him.

  • November 3- Grenade blast in Srinagar's Sunday market: The blast took place near the tourist reception centre. In which 12 people were injured. Immediately after the incident, the entire area was cordoned off to nab the attackers.
  • 3 Encounters on November 1-2: Within 36 hours, there were 3 encounters between army and terrorists in Srinagar, Bandipora and Anantnag. Army commander killed in Srinagar. Army killed 2 terrorists in Anantnag.
