Upon questioning all of them, it was learned that they had been living here for 4 years… Many such cases have come to light, in which Bangladeshi infiltrators are hiding in many states of the country. Let us understand where this figure of 3 lakhs came from?

In Assam, a notification to implement the National Register of Citizens (NRC) was issued in 2013 and the work started in 2014. Its purpose is to grant citizenship based on proper documentation. Out of which 3.3 crore applications were received, out of which 2.9 crore were found suitable. 40 lakhs with fake documents were released. He was given an opportunity to file a claim. About 36 lakh people came to clam. Out of which 21 lakh people were considered eligible to get citizenship. 15 lakh people could prove that he was not an intruder. They were given a rejection slip, based on which they appealed to the High Court, Supreme Court or a foreign tribunal. This work was to be done till December 2023.
