Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen has sought help from Home Minister Amit Shah on social media platform X. He said his Indian residence permit had expired in July and the home ministry was not renewing it.
Taslima said that India is her second home and she is upset because the permit has not been renewed since July 22. She said she would be grateful if the government would allow her to stay in India.
Bangladesh is currently facing a serious power struggle. The situation has been volatile since former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was removed from power a few months ago.
The interim government led by Mohammad Yunus is currently facing the challenge of restoring democratic institutions.
