Have you ever eaten sweets made of gold and silver? If not then we will take you to the place in Jaipur which has the most expensive barfi and halwa in Rajasthan.
This shop is the most unique sweets outlet 'Tyohar' located on Gandhi Path. Here, a sweet made of gold 'Swarna Bhasma Pak' costs more than iPhone-13 per kg. Similarly, the price of Chandi Bhasma crop is also 30 thousand rupees per kg.
Anjali Jain, who started the outlet, once worked at IT company Wipro, but quit due to her passion for food.
Anjali says – My father-in-law has been running a premium catering service in Jaipur since 1989. Our premium quality sweets were in great demand not only at wedding functions but also at festivals like Holi-Diwali. After receiving the order we started preparing the order from our home and delivering it at home.
This is the festival special Swarna Chandi Bhasma Pak and Swarna Bhasma Pak.
Named 'Tyohar' for this.
Due to the quality and excellent taste, the demand gradually increased. In such a situation we thought why not start our own outlet, where the most premium sweets of Rajasthan will be available. Working on this idea we opened a shop named 'Tyohar' at Gandhipath, Vaishalinagar, Jaipur. Where they brought not only sweets, but also many varieties of food.
The name 'Tyohar' was given because Rajasthan is known for its festivals. The tradition of exchanging sweets during the festival is also centuries old. On this theme we opened the outlet and worked on quality along with taste. Called the best craftsmen from different cities across the country.
The taste which is the specialty of the state or city, prepared by the experienced artisans of the place. Called artisans from Bengal for Bengali sweets. Delhi's chaat is famous, so expert artisans were called from Delhi and a full menu of chaats was prepared.
After 6 months of research, gold and silver sweets were prepared
Anjali said that she wanted to prepare a special sweet for my son Parshva, which would boost his immunity and benefit his development. I started researching Ayurvedic ingredients to find out what ingredients can be used in sweets in such a situation.
Read a lot about Svarna Bhasma made from gold and Chandi Bhasma made from silver. Their cooling property is very important. It is also very important for immune system, mental and physical health. In such a situation, the thought came that something should be made out of this. After researching for about 6 months we prepared this recipe.
The son first tasted the Suvarna Bhasma Pak and the Suvarna Bhasma Pak prepared by Chandi Bhasma. He liked it a lot. After this reviews were taken from many people. Good results were seen in less time. Then when we launched the outlet this was the first flavor of our premium quality sweets.
Gold and silver foil is brought from the Jain temple
Anjali said, People have a misconception that gold and silver foil is made from animal skins. I come from Jainism, we take great care of Varak there. Because in order to win the trust of the customers, we procure Gold and Silver Varak from Tapagach Jain Mandir in Johari Bazar, Jaipur.
The raw material comes from different parts of the country
Co-founder Kunal Jain said that he searched not only in India, but also in other countries for the raw material used in this dessert.
Went to Turkey, London, Spain and Iran and tested every quality of spices, saffron and dry fruits. Finally saffron from Kashmir, Mamra nuts from Afghanistan and pine nuts from certified centers in Himachal Pradesh started to be procured.
Swarna Bhasma made of pure gold is used in preparation of Swarna Bhasma Pak.
How is the most expensive dessert of Rajasthan prepared?
- First take good quality almonds. It is boiled in hot water for 15 to 20 minutes, so that the peel separates and it becomes soft.
- Now let's grate these almonds. Now roast this mixture in desi ghee (A2 quality) for 15 to 20 minutes, due to which it starts to smell like ghee. Let it cool.
- A very limited amount of sugar syrup is prepared and mixed for sweetness. Now mix saffron soaked in water in it.
- Now keep the prepared mixture in two separate vessels. Silver ash is kept in one mixture and gold ash is kept in the other mixture. 1.25 to 1.5 grams of bhasma is added from gold in one kg sweet, which costs around 30 to 35 thousand.
- Now silver foil is applied on silver ash crop and gold foil is applied on gold ash crop. Finally garnished with pine nuts.
Swarna Bhasma Pak is decorated with gold foil and pine nuts.
Both the sweetmeats are served at the outlet in chakki i.e. barfi shape, but the cooking method of this sweetmeat is similar to Halwa. For this reason, crops have also been used in the name of both sweets.
Like gold and silver, prices rise and fall
Anjali said that the cost of one piece of sweets made from gold ashes is Rs 1550. A kilo of sweets contains about 40 pieces, so the price of a kilo of sweets has been fixed at Rs 45,000. The price of one kilo sweet made from silver ash is around 30 thousand rupees.
A single piece of this dessert is also packed in a special type of box.
However, the price of this dessert also rises and falls like gold and silver, as the premium ingredients put in it are gold and silver, the prices of which go up and down every day. Gold and silver are at all-time highs right now. In such a situation, the price of a kilo of gold ash sweets is more than 45 thousand rupees.
Sweets packed in jewelery boxes are served
Anjali said that as much as the gold and silver sweetmeat is premium, its box has also been kept as premium. This sweet is delivered in a jewelery box only.
A special box is prepared from a seller who makes gold-silver jewelery boxes. Single pieces are also offered for those who want to savor this dessert. A single piece is also provided in a small box to hold the ring jewellery.
Quit job for 'festival'
Chartered Accountant Anjali Jain started her career with a job at Wipro. Husband Kunal Jain and father-in-law Atul Patoria already had a catering business. In this situation, he quit his job and joined the family business of premium catering in 2020. Along with pushing the work, he also started looking at event work. Now an outlet called 'Tyohar' has been launched for premium sweets. Anjali herself is the founder of the company and her husband Kunal Jain is the co-founder.
