Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday participated in the Swachh Bharat Divas 2024 program at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Which marks the 10th anniversary of the launch of Swachh Bharat Mission, one of the most important mass movements for cleanliness. Modi further said, I request you all to be a part of cleanliness drive in your surroundings today. This initiative of yours will further strengthen the spirit of 'Swachh Bharat'.

Modi said – today This mission completed 10 years

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Swachh Bharat Mission 10 years ago on October 2 on the special occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and today the mission has completed 10 years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also became very emotional on this occasion. He said that the Swachh Bharat Mission has brought people together. Under this mission, lakhs of people started joining the cleanliness drive. Someone sold his goats to build a toilet and a soldier donated his pension to a sanitation mission. So let's know what PM Modi said on this special occasion in 10 points.

1. Let's make Swachh Bharat together Today programs related to cleanliness are being held across the country. People are cleaning their villages, localities, cities, chalis, flats and societies with great enthusiasm. Ministers and other public representatives are also becoming part of this programme. More than 27 lakh programs were organized across the country in the 15 days of Seva Pakhwadia. We can make our India clean only with continuous efforts.

2. Today I am emotional…: On October 2nd, I am filled with a sense of duty and equally passionate. Today Swachh Bharat Mission's journey has crossed 10 years milestone. Swachh Bharat Mission Yatra is a symbol of commitment of crores of Indians. Crores of Indians have made it a part of their lives.

3. The more successful the Swachh Bharat Mission is, the brighter our country will shine

To take Swachh Bharat Mission to new heights. The more successful the Swachh Bharat Mission is, the more our country will shine. Even a thousand years from now, when 21st century India is studied, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan will surely be remembered.

4. For sanitation Rs. 10,000 crore projects Today, on this important milestone, a Rs 10,000 crore project related to sanitation has been launched. A water and sewage plant will be built under Mission Amrit. A plant will be built connected to the Namami Gange or to produce dung gas from the waste. Even after 1000 years from now if 21st century India is studied then Swachh Bharat Abhiyan will definitely be remembered.

5. Swachh Bharat is the world's largest mass movement

Swachh Bharat is the world's largest and most successful mass movement of this century. This mission has shown me the true energy of public welfare. Today I remember when this campaign started and how lakhs of people came together for cleaning. From marriages to public events, the message of cleanliness was spread everywhere.

6. People gave new strength to this movement of cleanliness

Somewhere an old mother sold her goats and joined a campaign to build toilets. Someone sold his Mangalsutra. So someone donated land to build a toilet. A retired teacher donated his pension. Somewhere a soldier donated the money he got after retirement for sanitation. Had this donation been given at a temple or any other event, it would have made headlines and been discussed for weeks. But the country should know that people whose faces have never appeared on TV, whose names have never appeared in newspaper headlines, have given new strength to this movement.

7. Crores of Indians did wonders

Crores of Indians have done a great job in this cleanliness campaign within a short period of time. More than 12 crore toilets have been built in the country. The impact that the Swachh Bharat Mission has had on the lives of the common people of the country is immeasurable. A study has revealed that the lives of 60 to 70 thousand children are being saved every year through the Swachh Bharat Mission.

8. Millions of letters were sent

Seeing this achievement of the countrymen, one wonders why what is happening today did not happen before. Mahatma Gandhi showed and taught us the way of cleanliness during the freedom movement, but what happened that cleanliness was not paid attention to after independence.

9. Don't consider cleanliness as a country's problem

The previous government did not consider the cleanliness of the country as a problem, they accepted it as a fact. I used to be teased that it is not the job of the Prime Minister of India to talk about toilets and sanitation, but this campaign changed everything.

10. The first task is to make the life of countrymen easier

The first task of the Prime Minister of India is to make life easier for the countrymen. Taking it as my responsibility, I talked about toilets, sanitary napkins and we are also seeing the impact.
