No opposition party has 10% seats
Voting was held on November 20 in 288 assembly seats of Maharashtra. The result came on November 23. Mahayuti got 230 seats. In which BJP won 132 MLAs, Shiv Sena 57 and NCP 41 MLAs. While Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) got 46 seats and others got 12 seats. In MVA, Shiv Sena (UBT) won 20 seats, Congress 16 and Sharad Pawar's NCP 10 seats. The majority figure is 145.
A party needs to have 10% of the seats to claim the Leader of the Opposition. In the 288-seat Maharashtra Assembly, 29 seats are required to claim the post, which no opposition party has. In such a situation, the assembly will not have the main opposition party and its leader.
