Shooters practiced before killing Baba Siddiqui: Police said – fired 5-10 rounds at a tree in Raigad forest

The shooters involved in the assassination of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddiqui practiced firing at least five times before attacking him. Mumbai Police said the shooters also practiced shooting in the forest near Karjat-Khopoli Road.

According to police, the shooters fired at a tree near a waterfall in Raigad district before targeting Baba Siddiqui. The accused fired five to ten bullets at the tree during practice. The shooters did this practice in September this year.

On the night of October 12, Baba Siddiqui was shot dead outside his son Jeeshan's office. Gangster Lawrence Gang has claimed responsibility for the murder. The gang held Bollywood superstar Salman Khan responsible for Baba's murder. On October 20, Salman was also threatened with death through an email.

Police has suspended Baba Siddiqui's security guard Mumbai Police had earlier suspended police security guard Shyam Sonavane, who was present with Baba Siddiqui at the time of the incident. According to the police, Constable Sonavane did not take any action against the assailants who shot Siddiqui. Police are investigating from this angle.

One of the accused said- demanded 1 crore rupees for the murder Mumbai Crime Branch said that Ram Kanojia, one of the accused arrested in the case, told during interrogation that the contract to kill the NCP leader was first given to him and he demanded Rs 1 crore for it.

Police said that a picture of Baba Siddiqui's son Jeeshan Siddiqui, which was sent to the accused through Snapchat by his handler, was found in the phone of one of the arrested accused earlier.

So far 10 people have been arrested in the Baba Siddiqui murder case

Police have arrested accused Bhagwant Singh from Navi Mumbai area.

The Mumbai Police arrested the 10th accused in the Baba Siddiqui murder case on October 20. Accused Bhagwant Singh was arrested from Navi Mumbai area. Police said that Bhagwant Singh had gone to Mumbai from Udaipur with weapons along with one of the accused. He was in contact with shooters and conspirators from the beginning.

15 teams of Mumbai Police's crime branch are investigating the case from different angles. Five accused were arrested on October 19. Police arrested Nitin Sapre from Dombivli, Ramful Chand Kanojia from Panvel, Sambhaji Kishore Pardhi, Pradeep Dattu Thombare and Chetan Pardhi from Ambernath.

All these people were in touch with main conspirator Shubham Lonkar and mastermind Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar. Both of them are still absconding. The court has sent all of them to police remand till October 25.
