Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting on ending Naxalism in Delhi on Monday. Chief Ministers of 8 Naxal affected states participated in the meeting held at Vigyan Bhavan.
Shah praised Chhattisgarh for its efforts to eradicate Naxalism. He said that 194 Naxalites have been killed, 801 have been arrested and 742 have surrendered in Chhattisgarh since January.
In the meeting, Shah appealed to the Naxalite youth to lay down their arms and join the mainstream. He gave the example of 13 thousand youths from North-East and Jammu-Kashmir, who have left Naxalism.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai was present in this meeting. He said that the action against Naxalites has increased in the last 9 months.
Shah said- incidents of violence related to Naxalism have reduced Amit Shah said that incidents of violence related to Naxalism have reduced from 16,463 to 7,700. This number will decrease further next year. Deaths of civilians and security forces have been reduced by 70%. The number of districts reporting violence has reduced from 96 to 42.
He said the number of police stations reporting violence has reduced from 465 to 171, out of which 50 police stations are new, meaning only 120 police stations are reporting violence.

According to a central government report, Naxalite violence in the country has reduced by 72% and deaths by 86% by 2023 compared to 2010. 202 Naxalites have been killed in the country this year. With this, the number of districts affected by left-wing extremism has reduced to 38.
Shah said- Government has increased funds in security related schemes Shah spoke about the security-related expenditure plan, which has seen an increase of around Rs 2000 crore in the last 10 years. In 2004-2014 Rs. 1180 crore was allocated, increasing to Rs. 3,006 crores. The Special Central Assistance Scheme has also spent Rs. 3,590 crore has been allocated.
He said that before 2019, only two helicopters were deployed for the troops, but today this number has increased to 12. This includes six helicopters of the Border Security Force (BSF) and six helicopters of the Air Force, which are to assist the troops.
More than 15 thousand mobile towers were installed in 10 years The Home Minister also informed that 544 fortified police stations have been constructed in the last 10 years. Earlier the road network was 2,900 km, but in the last 10 years it has been increased to 11,500 km. 15,300 mobile towers have been installed during this period, out of which 5139 towers have been provided with 4G connections.
He said that 38 Eklavya model schools were sanctioned before 2014, but none of them were constructed. Now 216 schools have been sanctioned, out of which 165 schools have been constructed.
Shah further said that earlier nothing was being spent on the air campaign, but now 1000 crore rupees are being spent on the air campaign. 131 crore rupees have been spent to build a trauma center in Jagdalpur.
