Search operation underway in Jammu's Kishtwar: 4 terrorists reported hiding; A jawan was martyred in the encounter yesterday

Security forces have resumed search operations in the dense forests of Keswan and its surrounding areas in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar on Monday morning.

On Sunday, there was news that 3-4 terrorists were hiding here, after which the army searched and the terrorists started firing. The firing lasted for more than four hours.

During the retaliatory action, 4 para special force personnel were injured. Deputy Subedar Rakesh Kumar was martyred during treatment.

According to the army, the terrorists hiding in the Keshawan forest belong to the Kashmir Tigers group. It was these people who killed 2 village guards on 7th November.

3 encounters in 2 days in Sopore, 3 terrorists killed

There have been 3 encounters between security forces and terrorists in the last 2 days. Army has killed 8 terrorists in 10 days of November. Two terrorists were killed in Sopore on November 8 and one terrorist was killed on November 9. Security forces are on high alert in these areas.

  • November 10 – A jawan martyred in Kishtwar: Security forces launched a search operation on information that 3-4 terrorists were hiding in the forests of Keshawan. Second Para SF soldier Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar was martyred during the encounter.
  • November 9- Army kills a terrorist in Sopore: Information was received that 2-3 terrorists are hiding in Rampur forest. A joint search operation by the security forces has been going on since then. Meanwhile, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces. One terrorist was killed in the retaliatory firing.
  • November 8- Search operation conducted in Sagipora and Panipora: 2 terrorists killed by security forces in Sopore. The army conducted a search operation in Sagipora and Panipora. Encounters were going on in these areas of Sopore since the night of November 7. There were reports of 2-3 terrorists hiding here. Kashmir IGP VK Birdy said that 2 terrorists have been killed in this operation. A large quantity of arms and ammunition and incriminating documents were recovered from them.
  • November 7- Jaish terrorists kill 2 village guards: Terrorists killed 2 village guards in Adhwari area of ​​Kishtwar. The police said that the militants abducted the village guard who had gone to graze cattle in the Munjala Dhar forest and shot him dead.

  • November 5- Encounter in Bandipora: Police and army personnel conducted a search operation. One terrorist was killed in the encounter.
  • November 3- Grenade blast in Srinagar's Sunday bazaar: Wilfot happened near the tourist reception centre. In which 12 people were injured. Immediately after the incident, the entire area was cordoned off to nab the attackers.
  • 3 Encounters on November 1-2: Within 36 hours, there were 3 encounters between army and terrorists in Srinagar, Bandipora and Anantnag. An army commander was killed in Srinagar. Army killed 2 terrorists in Anantnag.
