A 45-year-old woman from Sikkim has had scissors removed from her stomach 12 years ago. Her husband said the woman underwent appendix surgery in 2012 at Sir Thutob Namgyal Memorial Hospital in Sikkim's capital Gangtok. After this, the woman's appendix pain disappeared.

She struggled with this problem for 12 years. 8 October 2024 We again went to the same hospital, where during the X-ray it was found that the wife had surgical scissors in her stomach. It was released during the operation in 2012.

The husband said that after an X-ray examination, the wife underwent another surgery, in which the scissors were removed. Her health is now stable and she is recovering slowly. Anger has been expressed against the hospital after the news of doctors' negligence spread. An inquiry has also been initiated against the hospital administration.
