The principal of a government school in Andhra Pradesh cut the hair of 18 female students for coming late. According to media reports, the principal became enraged and cut off his hair as punishment. He was made to stand in the sun and beaten.
After the matter came to light, the collector has suspended the accused principal. Further investigation is underway.
On investigation, the allegations were found to be true State Project Director of Total Education B. Srinivas Rao said the incident took place on November 15 at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV), a school located in G Madugula of Alluri Sitharamaraju district, but came to light on Monday.
After this, the department conducted an investigation against the accused principal U Sai Prasanna. Finding the allegations against him to be true, the Collector issued suspension orders late in the night.
