The Civil Court of Sambhal ordered the Commissioner to conduct the survey on the same day. A few hours after this order, the Commissioner's team conducted the survey on the same day. The survey report has to be submitted within a week. The Jama Masjid party has filed an appeal against this order of the civil court. The next hearing of this case will be on November 29.
What is the Sambhal Masjid controversy? The Hindu party has long claimed that the temple stood on the site of Jama Masjid in Sambhal. On November 19, 8 people reached the court regarding this matter and filed a petition. Prominent among them are Supreme Court lawyer Harishankar Jain and his son Vishnu Shankar Jain. The two are also looking after Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar, Mathura, Kashi and Bhojshala.
Apart from this, the petitioners include the names of lawyer Partha Yadav, Mahant Rishiraj Giri of Banana Mandir, Mahant Dinanath, social activist Vedpal Singh, Madanpal, Rakesh Kumar and Jitpal Yadav. The Hindu side claims that the Site was the Sri Harihar temple, which was demolished by Babur in 1529 and converted into a mosque.
