The ED has raided the houses of several officers, including IAS Vinay Chaubey.
Amid Jharkhand assembly elections, ED has once again conducted raids in Ranchi. On Tuesday morning, the Enforcement Directorate raided the CA residences of Jharkhand senior IAS officer Vinay Chaube, Excise Department Joint Secretary Gajendra Singh and other close relatives and related officials.
It is said that this action has been taken in a liquor scam case. It is not clear which places are being raided by the ED.
The Chhattisgarh Police's Economic Offenses Wing EOW registered an FIR against then Excise Department Secretary Vinay Kumar Choubey and Joint Secretary Gajendra Singh in the matter.
Vikas Kumar of Ranchi applied for registration of FIR. After which an FIR was registered in Raipur. It stated that the entire liquor scam conspiracy was hatched to change the excise policy in Raipur.

ED has conducted raids earlier too Earlier also ED has taken action in liquor scam cases. On August 23 last year, the ED raided 32 locations in Ranchi, Deoghar, Dumka, Kolkata. As part of the raid, the ED team reached the homes of state finance minister Rameshwar Uravan, his son Rohit Uravan, liquor baron Yogendra Tiwari and 32 people associated with them.
Yogendra Tiwari was arrested in this case after the raid. The ED also filed a chargesheet against him. In which he talked about investing the earnings of the sand and land business in the liquor business.
This is the whole matter The strings of Chhattisgarh liquor scam are also connected to Jharkhand. In the FIR filed by the Chhattisgarh ACB, the then Excise Secretary of Jharkhand IAS Vinay Chaubey and Joint Commissioner of Excise Department Gajendra Singh have been made accused. The FIR said that IAS Anil Tuneja and Anwar Dhaber, who belonged to a liquor syndicate in Chhattisgarh, met Chaubey in January 2022 and framed rules for the sale of liquor in Jharkhand. The consultant was Arunpati Tripathi, MD of the Chhattisgarh State Marketing Corporation. Tripathi was paid around Rs 1.25 crore. According to the FIR, a turnover of Rs 100 crore was stipulated in the tender to benefit the syndicate. Due to which the state government suffered revenue loss in 2022-23.
