Rahul told nephew – I don't like 10 Janpath much: My father died while living here, worked with painter on Diwali.

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said that he does not like '10 Janpath', a government residence in Delhi's Lutyen area, as his father Rajiv Gandhi died there. He said this in a video of his interaction with some painter and potter families on the occasion of Diwali.

Nephew Rehan Rajeev Vadra is also with him in the video. Both are also seen working with painters at 10 Janpath Bungalow.

Rajiv lived at 10 Janpath Rahul himself has been living in 10 Janpath for a long time. Regarding the bungalow, Rahul Gandhi tells his nephew, 'My father died here, so I don't like this house very much.' Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by terrorists on 21 May 1991 in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. Rajiv Gandhi's official residence at that time was '10 Janpath'. After this Sonia Gandhi lives in this residence. Last year, Rahul vacated his Tughlaq Lane residence and has since been staying at 10 Janpath with his mother.

Rahul shared a video of meeting potter families.

On Diwali, go to a potter's house and make lamps Rahul interacted with the families of painters and potters to learn about their experiences and working conditions. Posting this video on his YouTube channel, he said, 'A memorable Diwali with special people. Celebrated this Diwali by working with some painter brothers and making clay lamps with a potter family. Observed their work closely, tried to learn their skills and understood their problems. Rahul says, 'They don't go to their house. We celebrate festivals happily and earn some money so we forget our village, city, family. They make joys out of clay, light the feasts of others, can they themselves live in light? Those who build houses are barely able to run their own houses. Rahul said, 'Diwali means light, which can dispel the darkness of poverty and helplessness, whose flame brings a smile to every home. We have to create a system that gives rights to skills and respects contributions – everyone has a happy Diwali.” The Congress leader said, “I hope this Diwali brings prosperity, progress and love in everyone's lives.

25 October 2024: Shared a video of help to a salon owner

On October 25, Rahul Gandhi gave Ajit, who runs a salon in Delhi, items needed for his shop. Rahul posted a video on his WhatsApp channel in which Ajith is going to buy goods. Rahul wrote in the post, 'I promise every poor and middle class people of India that I will bring back smiles on their faces.'

Thanking Rahul, Ajith said, 'I did not think that Rahul Gandhi would meet me and help me. I got all the essentials, nothing was missing.

Rahul went to Ajith's salon in Delhi's Uttam Nagar on October 25. There he spoke to Ajith while he was getting his beard done. Rahul also shared his video on X.
