PM Modi Launches 3 Param Rudra Supercomputers: Said- Our Govt is promoting Science-Technology, we will have space station by 2035

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday virtually inaugurated three Param Rudra supercomputers and high-performance computing systems for weather and climate research.

Speaking on the occasion, PM said that a country can aim for great achievements only when it has a great vision. Technology should be upgraded to empower the poor.

PM said that our government is giving priority to science, technology and research. Preparations for Mission Gaganyaan have begun and by 2035 we will have our own space station.

These supercomputers have been developed under India's National Super-computing Mission (NSM). His price is 130 crore rupees.

PM Modi launches three supercomputers. He called today a day of great achievements in the field of science and technology.

Special things related to Param Rudra Supercomputer…

  • These supercomputers will be dedicated to the country as part of the central government's efforts to make India self-reliant in the field of supercomputing technology.
  • These are set up in three main locations: Delhi, Pune and Kolkata. The Ministry of Science and Technology has said that the main objective of this project is to increase India's scientific research capacity.
  • The Giant Meter Radio Telescope (GMRT) in Pune will use this supercomputer to study fast radio bursts (FRBs) and other astronomical phenomena.
  • The Inter University Accelerator Center (IUAC) in Delhi will promote research in areas such as materials science and nuclear physics.
  • The SN Bose Center in Kolkata will use this supercomputing technology for advanced research, including in fields such as physics, cosmology and earth science.

Also inaugurated a high-performance computing system worth Rs 850 crore, designed for weather and climate research.

  1. The PM said, we launched the National Supercomputing Mission in 2015 and now quantum computing technology has taken the lead. Which will help improve IT, manufacturing, MSME and startups.

  3. The PM said, there is no sector which is not dependent on the capabilities of technology and computing. Our contribution to this revolution should not be in bits and bytes, but in terabytes and petabytes.
  4. Our mission is to use science to become self-sufficient. Today's India is carving a new path in the endless sky of possibilities. Our government has taken steps to bring the benefits of technology to the common man.

All three supercomputers were launched under the National Supercomputing Mission The project is a part of the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM). It aims to strengthen India's supercomputing infrastructure in areas such as education, research, MSME and startups. The first indigenously assembled supercomputer Param Shivaya was installed at IIT (BHU) in 2019 under this mission.

Alongside the launch of the Param Rudra Supercomputer, PM Modi today virtually announced Rs. Several other projects worth Rs 22,600 crore were to be launched. However, the event was postponed due to heavy rains in Mumbai and Pune.
