Rahul Gandhi held a press conference on Thursday regarding the corruption allegations leveled against businessman Gautam Adani in America. He said- Adaniji is doing a scam of 2 thousand crore rupees and is walking out because PM Modi is saving him. Gautam Adani has committed crimes in America, but nothing is being done against him in India. Sebi chairperson Madhabi Buch, the protege of Adani, should be prosecuted.
Eight people including Gautam Adani have been accused of fraud and bribery of billions in the hearing held in the Federal Court of New York.
The United States Attorney's Office says Adani promised to pay $265 million (about Rs 2,200 crore) in bribes to Indian officials to win solar power contracts in India.
Rahul's Conference Updates…
- Rahul said – we are raising this issue. I am raising this issue as Leader of Opposition. Adani fully supports BJP. Our demand is to form JPC. The Prime Minister of India is standing behind Adaniji. A common man goes to jail even if he commits a minor crime. Nothing happens to Adani.
- The question is, why is Adaniji out of jail? The American agency has told Adani that he has committed a crime. But the Prime Minister is not doing anything. They can't do anything because PM Modi is under their pressure.
- Nothing will happen to Adani, he will not be arrested, because Modi is with him. Action should be taken against those who are involved in this matter.
- America's FBI has investigated. I am already saying that Adani is corrupt. I had said two or three times earlier in the press conference that there should be an investigation. The matter will not be solved until Adani is arrested. Adaniji funds BJP.
- Narendra Modi cannot arrest Adani. If Modi does this, he (Modi) will also go. Adani has hijacked the country.
