Plot to overturn Kalindi Express, IB-ATS reaches: Train collides with cylinder on track, petrol and gunpowder found; 6 suspects in custody

Another attempt was made to derail the train in Kanpur. The incident took place late Sunday evening on the Anwar-Kasganj route. The Kalindi Express collided with a cylinder placed on the track. The cylinder did not rupture and hit the train and fell to the side of the track. The loco pilot of the Kalindi Express immediately informed the senior officer. After the incident, RPF, GRP and senior officials of Railways conducted an investigation. Now IB, STF and ATS are investigating the matter. Apart from the cylinder, petrol, match sticks and bags in bottles were found from the track. A gunpowder-like substance was found in the bag. RPF said that a terrorist incident cannot be ruled out. Police have detained 6 suspects. Six suspects have been picked up for questioning. The police have also taken the Jamatis of this area on the radar. 6 teams have been formed for investigation. DCP West Rajesh Kumar Singh said that jamatis coming from nearby areas are being investigated. Where the Jamatis have come from and where they are staying is also being investigated. Police Detain 6 Suspects Six suspects have been picked up for questioning on Jamatio Radar in the area. The police have also taken the Jamatis of this area on the radar. 6 teams have been formed for investigation. DCP West Rajesh Kumar Singh said there is a grave nearby where Jamatis come from all over the country. Depots coming from nearby areas are being checked. Where the Jamatis have come from and where they are staying is also being investigated. When the forensic team investigated, they found cylinder collision and rubbing marks on the track. In Lucknow, DGP Prashant Kumar said – Senior officers have been sent to the spot. Whoever has a hand in this will not be spared. A sweet box was recovered from the spot. The police have seized the CCTV of the shop where the box belonged. ATS IG N. Chaudhary has also reached the spot. An investigation has been conducted at the spot. Whatever facts are emerging, we are investigating all aspects.
