President Draupadi Murmu said on Sunday that pending cases and backlog are a big challenge for the judiciary. When a court decision in a case like rape comes after a generation, the common man feels that there is no sensitivity left in the process of justice. President Murmu attended the concluding program of the National Conference of District Judiciary at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Sunday. Here he said this. Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Union Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge) Arjun Ram Meghwal were also present at the event. Murmu also released the flag and emblem of the Supreme Court at the event. Murmu said- It is the responsibility of all judges to uphold justice. Murmu said that we have to end the culture of adjourning cases to get immediate justice in courts. All necessary efforts should be made for this. He also said that it is the responsibility of all the judges of this country to uphold justice. The stress level of a common man increases as soon as he enters the courtroom. He named it 'black coat syndrome' and suggested studying it. The President said- We need to think how much delay in justice is justified. There is a saying – in the house of God there is delay, not lawlessness. But how long? How long can this delay be? We have to think about this. By the time someone gets justice, the smile disappears from their face and in many cases, their life is over. We need to think deeply about this. On the Kolkata incident, the President said – Bahu Hoo On August 27, President Murmu made his first statement regarding the rape-murder case of a trainee doctor in Kolkata. He said, I am disappointed and scared by this incident. Too much happened. Society has a bad habit of forgetting such incidents. President Murmu wrote an article titled 'Women Safety: Enough is Enough', which he discussed with PTI editors on 27 August. In this article he said that no civilized society can allow such atrocities on its daughters and sisters.
