Patanjali's toothpaste claims to contain non-veg material: Petition filed in Delhi High Court, court seeks response from Ramdev

An application has been filed in the Delhi High Court regarding Patanjali's product Divya Dant Manjan. It is claimed that the product contains nonvegetable material. Petitioner advocate Yatin Sharma has alleged that the company uses a carnivorous substance called 'samudra fen' (cuttlefish) in its 'Divya Dant Manjan'. Advocate Yatin Sharma has also stated that despite the use of non-vegetarian elements, the product has been given a green i.e. vegetarian label. The court has sent a notice to Patanjali Ayurveda and Baba Ramdev and sought their reply. Justice Sanjeev Narula has also issued a notice to the central government and Patanjali's Divya Pharmacy, which manufactures this product. The next hearing of the case will be on November 28. Petitioner's claim- Having hurt his sentiments, the petitioner Yatin has claimed that Yogaguru Ramdev himself has admitted in a video that cuttlefish is used in his products. However the company is doing wrong branding and calling Manjan as vegetarian. The court was told that the petitioner and his family were unhappy as they only used vegetarian products. But since he came to know that Seafoam is used in Divya Dant Manjan. Their sentiments have been hurt. Claims to strengthen gums According to Patanjali website Divya Dant Manjan is the most powerful medicinal product for gums as well as teeth. Using this tooth powder strengthens the gums. This relieves dental problems like pyorrhea (bleeding and pus from the gums). Ban on licenses of Patanjali's drugs lifted The Uttarakhand government has put on hold its order of May 17, canceling the licenses of 14 products of Patanjali Ayurveda and Divya Pharmacy. The government revoked its order after the preliminary inquiry report was submitted by the high-level committee. On April 30, the state government suspended the manufacturing license of 14 products of Baba Ramdev's Patanjali Ayurveda and Divya Pharmacy. The Uttarakhand government's licensing authority also issued an order banning the products. It said that the company's license has been suspended for repeatedly publishing misleading advertisements about Patanjali Ayurveda's products. On August 13, the court issued a stern warning to the duo saying that if they do anything in violation of the court order, as has happened earlier, the court will give severe punishment. The Supreme Court was hearing a petition by the Indian Medical Association, which was accused of defaming Covid vaccination and allopathy.
