The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday raided 22 places in 6 states in a case related to human trafficking. Based on intelligence inputs, raids have been conducted in other states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to nab gangs involved in human trafficking. This is likely to involve a large network.
This network traffics the youth with the lure of jobs abroad. After this, they are forced to work in fake call centers involved in cyber fraud. A case was registered in this matter in Gopalganj of Bihar. The NIA took over the case from the local police.
Fear of being smuggled abroad
A network of smugglers smuggles women, men and children from one state to another in the country. The NIA suspects that the gang also smuggles some people abroad. They are also suspected of having links with foreign smuggling gangs. Different teams of the NIA with the help of the state police have been investigating at several places since morning.
