Mysore-Darbhanga Express collides with freight train: Fire breaks out, 6 coaches of passenger train derail; Many people were injured; Accident near Chennai

Mysore-Darbhanga Express (12578) collided with a freight train near Chennai in Tamil Nadu on Friday night. The accident took place near Kavraipettai railway station. There are reports that many people have been injured in this accident.

According to news agency PTI, the freight train was standing at Kavraipettai railway station when the passenger train collided with it. 6 coaches of the express derailed and caught fire. Ambulance and rescue teams have been dispatched to the spot.
