Mumbai-New York Air India flight bomb threat: Flight diverted to Delhi; There were 239 passengers on board the flight

An Air India flight from Mumbai to New York received a bomb threat. After which the flight was diverted to Delhi. The plane is currently parked at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport and had 239 passengers on board. All passengers are being disembarked and the aircraft is being checked. Nothing suspicious has been found yet.

This is the second case of bomb threat in flight in last 5 days. On October 9, a bomb was reported on Vistara Airlines flight UK18 from London to Delhi. About 3.5 hours before the flight reached Delhi, a passenger found a threatening tissue paper in the plane's toilet. He informed the crew member. About 300 passengers and crew members were on board the flight. Passengers were stranded at the airport for almost 5 hours due to security checks.

August threat case, Air India flight bomb threat August 21: A bomb threat was received on Air India flight 657 from Mumbai to Thiruvananthapuram. The plane reached Thiruvananthapuram. Then the pilot gave information about the bomb. There were 135 passengers on board the flight. All were evacuated safely. An emergency was declared at the Thiruvananthapuram airport. The flight was diverted to isolation bay. The investigation found nothing.

Three cases related to bomb threats on flights in June June 3: Bombs were reported on Akasa Air's Delhi-Mumbai flight and IndiGo's Chennai-Kolkata flight. Akasa Air flight was diverted to Ahmedabad. The flight was carrying 186 passengers, including a child and 6 crew members. A security alert was received in the flight after going from Delhi to Mumbai. After this, the flight landed safely at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad at 10:13 am. The investigation is still ongoing.

On June 1 and 2, two flights made emergency landings at Mumbai airport on two consecutive days.

June 2: A Vistara flight from Paris to Mumbai was carrying 306 people and received a bomb threat. After this, a full emergency was declared at the Mumbai airport. The flight made an emergency landing at 10.19 am on June 2.

June 1: IndiGo flight 6E-5314 from Chennai to Mumbai was rumored to have a bomb. After this, an emergency was declared at the Mumbai airport and the flight was landed. There were 172 passengers in it. However, nothing suspicious was found on the flight.

The flight departed from Chennai on June 1 at 6.50 am. One of them was found with an unaccompanied remote on the way to Mumbai. The pilot then informed the Mumbai Air Traffic Control and sought permission for an emergency landing. The flight landed at Mumbai airport at 8.45 am.
