Monsoon tracker in the country: Heavy rains inundate people's houses in UP, on NDRF alert; Schools closed in Bihar-Odisha; Heavy rain in 3 states including Maharashtra

In Madhya Pradesh, 19 districts of the state including Bhopal received heavy rain.

In Uttar Pradesh, 10 cities, including Lucknow-Varanasi, received heavy rain late in the night. The railway track in Sultanpur was also submerged in water. Roads here were inundated with 2 feet of water and houses were inundated in Sultanpur. NDRF, SDRF are on alert.

In Bihar, Katihar is experiencing flood-like conditions due to the overflow of Ganga and Kosi rivers. 57 schools have been closed here. Even in Hatidah of Patna, Ganga is flowing on two banks.

Due to heavy rain in Odisha's Puri, the premises of the Konark Sun Temple has been submerged in water. Puri district administration has also closed all the schools. 1.5 inches of rain has been recorded here in 24 hours, Bhubaneswar has also received 1 inch of rain.

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in 8 states including Madhya Pradesh today. Among them, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa are on red alert.

Alert in 10 MP, 20 districts of Rajasthan, temperature 41 degrees in Bikaner

  • Heavy rain is likely in 10 districts of Madhya Pradesh today. Yellow alert has been announced in more than 20 districts of Rajasthan. On the other hand, the heat became more intense in Bikaner. The maximum temperature has reached 41 degrees.
  • In Uttarakhand, the water level of several rivers, including the Ganga, has risen. One person has died due to cloudburst in Himachal.
  • Orange alert has been announced in Maharashtra's Palghar, Yellow alert in Thane-Raigad. A 22-year-old woman died after drowning in a waterfall in Raigad on Thursday.

In Anakapalle, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, roads were flooded after heavy rains.

A landslide has occurred in Himachal Pradesh's Shimla after heavy rains. The car was buried under the debris.

In Uttarakhand's Chamoli, the water level of the river has risen due to rains.

Heavy rains in 12 states on September 28

  • On September 28, Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Bengal, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka have issued a heavy rain alert.
  • Rainy conditions will remain in some districts of Rajasthan till September 29. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karnataka are also likely to witness heavy rains and thundershowers till September 29.

Delay in departure of monsoon The Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from Rajasthan will begin from September 17. This time it happened on 23rd September i.e. with a delay of one week. Due to which there is no possibility of departure of monsoon in Pune and Mumbai before October 10-12. Monsoon usually returns from Maharashtra around 5 October.

IMD scientist SD Sanap said Maharashtra will receive good rainfall from September 26 due to the formation of a low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal and the possibility of it moving towards the northwest. Maharashtra and Goa are likely to receive heavy rain till September 28.

According to IMD, rains have started in Maharashtra this monsoon season after a long gap. In such a situation, it would be too hasty to predict the departure of monsoon from Maharashtra in October.

Madhya Pradesh: Heavy rain alert for 2 days in Malwa-Nimar, state received more than 42 inches of rain so far

Heavy rain fell in 19 districts of the state including Bhopal on Thursday.

Malwa-Nimar (Indore-Ujjain division) of Madhya Pradesh will receive heavy rain for the next 2 days. Rain will also occur in Jabalpur-Gwalior division. After this the weather will be clear. Monsoon may also depart in the first week of October. MP has received an average of 42.6 inches of rainfall so far.

Rajasthan: Heavy rain alert in more than 20 districts, temperature also crosses 41 degrees

Jalore, Tonk and Chittorgarh received rain yesterday afternoon.

Monsoon has become active in Rajasthan once again. On Thursday, 10 districts of south-east Rajasthan including Jalore, Tonk, Chittorgarh, Baran, Baswara, Dausa, Sawai Madhopur received light rain. Even today, Jaipur has declared yellow alert for more than 20 districts of Rajasthan.
