The Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from Rajasthan will begin from September 17. This time it happened on 23rd September i.e. with a delay of one week. Due to which there is no possibility of departure of monsoon in Pune and Mumbai before October 10-12. Monsoon usually returns from Maharashtra around 5 October.
IMD scientist SD Sanap said Maharashtra will receive good rainfall from September 26 due to the formation of a low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal and the possibility of it moving towards the northwest. Maharashtra and Goa are likely to receive heavy rain till September 28.
According to IMD, rains have started in Maharashtra this monsoon season after a long gap. In such a situation, it would be too hasty to predict the departure of monsoon from Maharashtra in October.
