Mercury plunges into minus in 9 districts of Kashmir: Zojila lowest -19°C; Cold will increase in 17 states including UP from tomorrow, 77 trains cancelled

​​​​​​​Due to growing cold in Jammu and Kashmir, mercury has plunged into minus. Mercury was recorded in minus in 2 districts of Jammu and 9 districts of Kashmir. Zojila is the coldest, where the temperature reaches -19 ° degrees.

Shopian recorded a temperature of -4.5 degrees, Pahalgam and Bandipora -4.3 degrees. In Srinagar too, the mercury has touched -2.0 degrees Celsius. Adampur in Punjab was the coldest city in the plains at 3.8 degrees.

Delhi had its coldest morning of the season this morning with a temperature of 7.1 degrees. There was fog in Mumbai, Delhi and many areas of Uttar Pradesh in the morning. Northern Railway has canceled 77 trains till February 28 due to increasing fog. Out of them 36 trains belong to Delhi division.

According to the Meteorological Department, fog will prevail in 17 states including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Assam, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Tripura on December 8-9 due to Western Disturbance. Due to which the cold will increase in the plains states.

It rained in some parts of Karnataka on Friday. Punjab, Haryana and western UP are also likely to receive rain on Sunday. Apart from this, snowfall has been predicted in Himachal Pradesh.

The night temperature may drop by 2-3 degrees.

Chhattisgarh: Rain likely in 9 districts today, night temperature in Ambikapur reaches 10 degrees

Rain is likely in around 9 districts of Chhattisgarh on Saturday. From Surguja to Bastar division in December, there will be light rain and drizzle, keeping the weather cool. There is no possibility of any significant change in night temperature. Currently Surguja Panthak is the coldest. The minimum temperature in Ambikapur is between 10 degrees. There is no severe cold in any part of the state for the last 4 days.
