Mamata says- Deploy United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Bangladesh: PM Modi to intervene; Bangladeshi Assistant High Commission raided in Tripura

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has demanded the deployment of United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Bangladesh. He has also demanded personal intervention from PM Modi in this matter to protect the minorities of Bangladesh.

Mamata said in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly on Monday – We have families, close people, assets in Bangladesh. We will accept whatever stand the Indian government takes on this, but we condemn persecution on religious grounds anywhere in the world. Appeal to central government and PM Modi for intervention.

He said that we have spoken to the head of ISKCON's Kolkata unit. We cannot tolerate any attack on Indians in Bangladesh. We can bring our people back. The Government of India may take up this matter in the United Nations. So that a peacekeeping force can be sent to Bangladesh.

In fact, on November 25, Chinmoy Prabhu, associated with Chittagong ISKCON, was arrested in a sedition case. The next day, a lawyer died in the commotion during his appearance at the Chittagong court. Since then there are demands to ban ISKCON in Bangladesh. Here his supporters are protesting with the demand of Chinmaya Prabhu's release.

On Monday, protesters stormed the premises of the Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh in Agartala. They were protesting the arrest of Chinmoy Prabhu and also demanding his release.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has condemned the intrusion. The ministry said – this incident is very regrettable. Diplomatic and consular property should not be targeted under any circumstances.

Doctor's message to Bangladeshi patients in West Bengal- first salute the tricolor Dr. Shekhar Bandopadhyay has hoisted tricolor at his private clinic in Siliguri. Speaking to The Indian Express, he said, “I am saddened to see that our national flag is being insulted in Bangladesh.

The doctor wrote in the message with the flag – India's national flag is like our mother. Please salute the tricolor before entering the chamber. Especially Bangladeshi patients, if they don't salute, they won't be allowed in.

Chinmay Krishna Das Prabhu, a religious leader associated with Bangladesh ISKCON, was constantly raising the issue of violence against Hindus.

August 5: There were protests in the country on the issue of reservation in Bangladesh. On August 5, PM Sheikh Hasina left the country. After this, violent incidents against Hindus continued on a large scale.

The Sanatan Jagran Manch was formed to protect the interests of Bangladeshi Hindus and minorities. Chinmoy Prabhu, associated with Chittagong ISKCON, was made its spokesman. Chinmay addressed several rallies in Chittagong and Rangpur through the Sanatan Jagran Manch. Thousands of people participated in it.

25 October: Sanatan Jagran Manch held a rally at Laldighi Maidan in Chittagong with 8-point demands. In which Chinmay Krishna Das gave a speech. Meanwhile, some people hoisted saffron flag on Azadi Stambha in New Market Chowk. This flag had 'Aami Sanatani' written on it. After the rally, on October 31, Feroze Khan, leader of Begum Khaleda's BNP party, filed a sedition case against 19 people, including Chinmoy Krishna Das, in Chittagong. He is accused of insulting the national flag.

25 November: Chinmoy Prabhu was arrested at Dhaka International Airport. After his arrest, people belonging to ISKCON and followers of Chinmoya Prabhu started protesting.

26 November: Chinmoy Prabhu was produced in the Chittagong court. Here he was denied bail. After this, violence broke out outside the court premises. In which Advocate Saiful Islam lost his life.

27 November : A petition was filed in the Bangladesh High Court seeking a ban on ISKCON. The lawyer who filed the petition told the court that ISKCON people are behind Saiful's death. In such a situation this organization should be banned. The petition also demanded declaration of emergency in Chittagong.

28 November: The Dhaka High Court on September 28 rejected the demand to ban Coiscon. In the court, the interim government of Bangladesh said that we have taken necessary action against the activities of ISKCON. This issue is a priority of the government.

Here ISKCON Bangladesh distanced itself from Chinmay Prabhu. General Secretary Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari said that Chinmay has been removed from all posts in the organization due to breach of discipline. They do not take responsibility for any of their statements or reactions.

29 November: The Indian branch of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) said Chinmoy Prabhu was not an official member of the organization, but supported his rights and freedom of speech. The organization said that we have not and will not distance ourselves from Chinmaya Prabhu.

30 November: Another religious leader associated with ISKCON, Shyam Das Prabhu, was arrested in Chittagong. Shyam Das Prabhu visited Chinmoy Prabhu in jail, where he was arrested without a warrant.
