Maharashtra assembly election, Mahayuti meeting for seat distribution: Consensus reached in 3 hours on 173 seats; The remaining 115 will be discussed in the next meeting

The second round of Mahayuti (BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP) meeting for the Maharashtra assembly elections was held on Saturday (August 31). NCP sources told ANI that a consensus was reached on 173 of Maharashtra's 288 seats in the three-hour meeting. It has been decided to give maximum number of seats to BJP. Shiv Sena and NCP will get seats after BJP. However, information about the number of seats agreed to be given to which party has not been revealed. A decision will be taken on the remaining 115 seats in the meeting. There will be 2-3 more rounds of meetings to finalize the seat distribution. CM Shinde, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar along with BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, NCP state president Sunil Tatkare, NCP leader Praful Patel were present in this meeting held in Nagpur. Ajit Pawar said – We will seek 60 seats Ajit Pawar said in Nagpur before the meeting – We won 54 seats in the 2019 elections. This time as we have the support of three Congress MLAs and three independents, our clout is increasing. We will demand 60 seats in this assembly election. The tenure of the BJP-Shiv Sena (Shinde group) government will end in November 2024. In the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won only 9 seats. In the last assembly elections held in 2019, the BJP won 104 seats. The Mahayuti alliance under the leadership of the BJP includes the current Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar's NCP. In Lok Sabha Election 2024, BJP could win only 9 out of 48 seats in Maharashtra. Coalition partner NCP won one seat. Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) won 7 seats.
