Labor hotspot used in Baba Siddiqui murder case: Accused Akashdeep talks to mastermind Anmol; 26th arrest in murder case

A new revelation has emerged in the murder case of former Maharashtra minister and NCP (Ajit) leader Baba Siddiqui. According to the Mumbai Crime Branch, Akashdeep Gill, who was arrested from Fazilka in Punjab, used the labor's mobile hotspot to talk to mastermind Anmol Bishnoi and other conspirators.

According to the police, Akashdeep supplied arms and other facilities to the attackers. During interrogation, Akashdeep said that to evade the police, he switched on the mobile phone of a laborer and spoke to Anmol and others.

Meanwhile, the crime branch made the 26th arrest in the case on Friday. Sumit Dinkar Wagh (26) resident of Akot taluka of Akola district of Maharashtra was arrested.

According to the police, Sumit transferred money from the account of Karnataka Bank's Petlad branch in Anand district of Gujarat to accused Gurmel Singh's brother Naresh Kumar, accused Rupesh Mohol and Harish Kumar.

The crime branch said it transferred the money online using a SIM in the name of arrested accused Salman Vora. This amount was transferred at the behest of absconding accused Shubham Lonkar.

Baba Siddiqui was shot dead on the night of October 12 in Bandra East area. He was going to sit in his car outside the office of his son, MLA Jeeshan, when assailants on bikes opened fire on him. He died during treatment at around 11:30 pm.

Shubham and Sumit Akol are close friends According to Crime Branch, both Shubham Lonkar and Sumit Wala are residents of Akot taluka. Both are close friends. They were together in college too.

  • On November 12, Mumbai's Fort Court remanded four other accused, including the main accused and shooter Shiv Kumar, to police custody. These people were arrested by a team of Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Mumbai Crime Branch on November 10 from Nanpara area of ​​Bahraich, UP.
  • Police have also arrested Salman Vohra and Akashdeep Singh in connection with the murder. Vohra is accused of paying for the murder. According to information received from a senior officer of the Mumbai Crime Branch, after the murder of Baba Siddiqui, a big leader from Pune was also on the radar of the Bishnoi gang.
  • According to sources, Shubham Lonkar, mastermind and wanted accused of the NCP leader's murder on November 16, had allegedly planned the murder of accused Aftab Poonawala, who was arrested in the Shraddha Walker murder case.
  • According to sources, Lonkar, allegedly associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, had planned for a month straight to kill Poonawalla in 2022 at Delhi's Saket Court. Accused Aftab is currently lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail No. 4.

However, the police had to let him go as there was no evidence against him.
