Kolkata rape-murder, protests outside Swasthya Bhavan for third day: Doctors stand firm on their demand; Said- Sitting in AC room will not solve the problem

Thursday is the 33rd day of protest by junior doctors in Kolkata. Doctors have been on strike outside the health building for the last three days. They are adamant on 5 demands, including the removal of Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal. The doctors agreed to talk to the Bengal government on 11 September. He put 4 conditions for the meeting. However, the government rejected the terms. Health Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya said that we are ready to listen to doctors, but they cannot set conditions for it. Dr. Junior Doctor who participated in the protest. Arnab Mukhopadhyay said, 'The health minister said that he is disappointed with our condition. Sitting in the AC room, she is getting frustrated. We are here in the streets. Our conditions for seating are not incorrect. He said that we hope the government will accept our demand. Our main demand is justice for the victim. We also want a quick resolution and get back to work. There was no politics in emailing the Chief Minister's office early in the morning. Those who are accused of playing politics are playing politics. We have been demanding 5 points since day one. A day earlier, Mamata Banerjee waited for doctors for 80 minutes. On September 10, CM Mamata called the doctors to the Secretariat for a meeting. A mail was sent to him from the health department. However, the junior doctors refused to come to the meeting. Despite doctors' refusal, Mamata waited for about 80 minutes. Finally, when the doctors did not come, Mamata returned. Doctors said – the same person whose resignation we (state health secretary) are seeking is calling for the meeting. In that too, the government called only 10 doctors. This is an insult to the movement.
