Kolkata rape-murder case: Victim's father says- Police offered money while handing over body; Said – we have fulfilled the responsibility

Protests continue for the 28th day today over the rape-murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Late on Wednesday night, the doctor's parents also joined the protest. The victim's father said- the police is trying to suppress this case from the beginning. We had to wait at the police station until the dead body was taken for post-mortem. Later, when the daughter's body was handed over to us, a senior police officer offered us money. 300-400 policemen surrounded us till the cremation took place, but after the cremation, not a single policeman was seen. What the family would do, how they would go home, the police did not take any responsibility. The body of the daughter was lying in front of the parents at home and while we were shedding tears, the police was giving money, is this the humanity of the police? The police used to say that they have discharged all their responsibilities, is this what is called discharge of responsibilities? Sukant Majmudar said- TMC is saving Sandeep Ghosh Union Minister and State President of BJP Sukant Majmudar said that there has been rape in our state. If Mamata has courage, she should resign. I am the Union Minister of this state. If Mamata resigns, I am also ready to resign. Trinamool Congress (TMC) is trying to save Sandeep Ghosh, former principal of RG Tax. When Ghosh was not allowed in by the students of the National Medical College, he was posted as an officer on special duty in the health department. The party is trying to protect the person against whom the most allegations have been leveled. However, on August 28, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) revoked Sandeep Ghosh's membership.
