Arvind Kejriwal said- I request the PM to study the Delhi model and implement it all over India. (file)
Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said that the CAG has found many flaws in the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Every person of Delhi gets free treatment under the scheme of Delhi government. Be it a five rupee pill or a treatment worth crores, it is completely free. PM should implement Delhi scheme in whole country.
Kejriwal said that if the PM asks, I will send him the names of lakhs of people who will benefit from this. In fact, on Tuesday, while expanding the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, PM Modi launched free treatment facility up to Rs 5 lakh for people above 70 years of age.
Meanwhile, the PM said that he regretted that Delhi and Bengal were not included in the scheme, as both the state governments had not approved it. On the other hand, the BJP has filed a writ petition in the High Court against the AAP government's decision not to implement Ayushman in Delhi. Delhi BJP president gave this information on Wednesday.
AAP called Ayushman Yojana a failure
- Arvind Kejriwal: Have people benefited from Ayushman Bharat Yojana? Till date, I have not come across a single person receiving treatment under Ayushman Bharat in states where Ayushman Yojana is in force. I request the PM to study Delhi model and implement Delhi model all over India instead of Ayushman Bharat Yojana, so that people can really benefit.
- Saurabh Bhardwaj: Ayushman Bharat is a failed scheme. Poor patients from states like UP, Haryana and Rajasthan come to Delhi hospitals for surgery. Government hospitals in Delhi provide free treatment to these patients. Delhi government health schemes are much more effective than Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
- Sanjay Singh: If you own a refrigerator, motorcycle or your income is more than ₹10,000, you cannot avail Ayushman Bharat. He alleged that the scheme was one of the biggest scams in BJP-ruled states.
PM said – I will not be able to serve the elders of Delhi
PM said that I apologize to the elders above 70 years in Delhi and Bengal that I will not be able to serve them. I am sad that I will not be able to help because – Delhi and Bengal Govt. Not connecting. I apologize that I am able to serve the countrymen, but political interest does not allow me to serve in Delhi-Bengal. I cannot express in words the pain that must be going through my mind.
