How did the accident happen? The fire broke out due to sparking in the oxygen concentrator at around 10.30 pm on Friday, followed by an explosion. The fire had spread to the entire ward. The ward boy used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire, but it had expired 4 years ago, so it didn't work.

As soon as the information was received, 6 vehicles of the fire brigade arrived. The window was broken and water was splashed. The army was called as the fire started on sight. The fire was brought under control in about 2 hours. 39 children were taken out safely by breaking the window of the ward.
