India's Venus to launch in 2028: 4-year mission; This Earth's twin planet, one of its days is equal to 243 Earth days

India's first Venus mission will be launched in March 2028. The central government approved this mission on September 19. This mission will last for four years. Shukra i.e. planet Venus is about 4 crore km away from Earth.

Venus is also called the twin planet of Earth. However, the days and nights here are much longer than on Earth. In fact, Venus rotates very slowly on its axis. Therefore one day of Venus is equal to 243 days of Earth.

Now know about India's Shukrayan Mission…

What is Mission Venus?

This Indian mission will study the orbit of Venus. Will collect information about the planet's surface, atmosphere, ionosphere (outer part of the atmosphere). Venus is close to the Sun (about 11 crore kilometers). What effect does the sun have on it in such a situation? This will also be known.

3 Reasons Why Studying Venus Is Important…

Venus is often called Earth's twin. Because it is similar to Earth in terms of size and density. So studying Venus can help us understand the evolution of Earth. It is believed that Venus once had water, but is now a dry and dusty planet.

1. Here the temperature is 462 degrees Celsius: The surface temperature of Venus is about 462 degrees Celsius. Although Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun, it is hotter than Mercury. The reason Venus is so hot is the greenhouse effect. In this, when the sun's heat reaches the atmosphere, it gets trapped there and does not escape out of the atmosphere. Due to this, the surface of the planet gets hotter.

2. Lander could not operate for more than 2 hours: Landers sent here so far have not been able to operate for more than two hours due to the heat of Venus. Its atmospheric pressure is also much higher than Earth's. If you understand in simple language, the same pressure that is felt under the sea on earth is also here.

3. One revolution of Venus equals 243 Earth days: Venus rotates on its axis much slower than Earth. One revolution of Venus is about 243 Earth days. Venus rotates upside down (east to west) on its axis compared to other planets. This means that on Venus the sun rises in the west and sets in the east.

How will India reach Venus?

India will launch Venus mission in March 2028. Then it will be farthest from the Sun and closest to Earth. If the launch is postponed at this time, the next opportunity will be in 2031, because then it will again be closest to Earth.

This satellite will be launched from Earth. After reaching Earth's orbit, it will rapidly move towards Venus. After the satellite leaves Earth's orbit, it will take about 140 days to reach Venus.

Will study Venus for four years

The Venus mission will have a lifespan of four years. It is believed that Shukrayan will be launched by GSLV Mark-2 rocket. Venus will weigh around 2500 kg. It will have payloads of 100 kg. How many payloads will go will be decided later. However payloads from Germany, Sweden, France and Russia can also be deployed.
