In West Bengal, a doctor put up the tricolor at the clinic: wrote a message – Bangladeshi patients will be treated only if they salute the national flag

In protest against the continuous attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, some doctors in West Bengal have refused to treat Bangladeshi patients. Dr. Shekhar Bandopadhyay has hoisted tricolor at his private clinic in Siliguri.

The doctor wrote in the message with the flag – India's national flag is like our mother. Salute the tricolor before entering the chamber. Especially Bangladeshi patients, if they don't salute, they won't be allowed in.

The doctor said – come to my country and respect the tricolor Dr. Shekhar Bandopadhyay works as a specialist medical officer in the ENT department at North Bengal Medical College Hospital. Talking to Indian Express, he said – I am saddened to see that our national flag is being insulted in Bangladesh.

As a doctor I don't want to turn patients away, but people who come to my country should respect our flag, our motherland. It seems that Bangladesh has slipped into the Taliban mentality.

Other doctors said – they will not treat any Bangladeshi patient Another doctor, general surgeon and pediatrician Chandranath Adhikari, has announced that he will not treat any Bangladeshi patients in his private clinic. The doctor said, I am attached to the government hospital in Bolpur.

There, I cannot refuse a patient, but I have the freedom to do so in my clinic. I have decided that I will not see patients from Bangladesh. My country comes first. What is happening in Bangladesh is a matter of grave concern to all of us.

Kolkata-Agartala hospitals refuse treatment to Bangladeshis Two hospitals in West Bengal's Kolkata and Tripura's Agartala have already refused to treat Bangladeshi patients. Subhranshu Bhakta of Kolkata's JN Ray Hospital said – Now Bangladeshi patients will not be treated because the tricolor is being insulted in Bangladesh. Although India played an important role in their independence, we still see anti-India sentiments among them.

Some people protested against Bangladesh in front of ILS Hospital in Agartala, Tripura. After this, the hospital management decided not to treat Bangladeshi patients.

Violence against Hindus in Bangladesh – India objects On 29 November, India's Ministry of External Affairs expressed its objection to the attack on Hindus. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the interim government should take responsibility for the security of Hindus and other minorities. The government there cannot escape responsibility by saying that the media is exaggerating the matter.

Apart from this, the Ministry of External Affairs also demanded that Chinmoy Prabhu be tried under judicial judicial process. Chinmoy Prabhu was arrested on November 25 in a sedition case.

Chinmay Krishna Das Prabhu, a religious leader associated with Bangladesh ISKCON, was constantly raising the issue of violence against Hindus.

Know who is Chinmay Prabhu Chinmaya Krishna Das Brahmachari's real name is Chandan Kumar Dhar. He was associated with Chittagong ISKCON. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left the country on August 5, 2024 amid the ongoing violence in Bangladesh. This was followed by large-scale violence against Hindus.

After this, the Sanatan Jagran Manch was formed to protect the interests of Bangladeshi Hindus and minorities. Chinmaya Prabhu was made its spokesperson. Through the Sanatan Jagran Manch, Chinmay addressed several rallies in Chittagong and Rangpur. Thousands of people participated in it.

On October 25, Sanatan Jagran Manch held a rally at Laldighi Ground in Chittagong with 8 point demands. Chinmay Krishna Das spoke in this. Meanwhile, some people hoisted the saffron flag on the Azadi Pillar in New Market Chowk. This flag had 'Aami Sanatani' written on it.

After the rally, on October 31, Feroze Khan, leader of Begum Khaleda's BNP party, filed a sedition case against 19 people, including Chinmoy Krishna Das, in Chittagong. He is accused of insulting the national flag.

On November 26, Chinmoy Prabhu was taken to the Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Court.

ISKCON Bangladesh severed ties with Chinmoy Prabhu On November 27, ISKCON Bangladesh announced its separation from Chinmoy Prabhu. ISKCON General Secretary Charu Chandra Das Brahmachari said that Chinmay has been removed from all posts in the organization for breach of discipline. They do not take responsibility for any of their statements or reactions.

India ISKCON's support to Chinmay On 29 November, the Indian branch of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) stated that Chinmoy Prabhu was not an official member of the organization, but supported his rights and freedom of speech. The association said that we have not and will not distance ourselves from Chinmaya Prabhu.
