In Bengaluru, a man stabbed his girlfriend to death and stayed with her body for a day. The incident took place in a service apartment in Indiranagar.
The deceased girl has been identified as Maya Gogoi Deka (19), while the suspected accused has been identified as Aarav Hanoi (21). The victim was a resident of Assam, while the accused was a resident of Kannur, Kerala.
Police said the accused worked as a student counselor at HSR Layout, while the victim was a YouTube content creator and worked in a private company in Jayanagar.
The two had booked this serviced apartment together for three days, where he murdered his girlfriend.

After killing at night, the accused stayed with the dead body for a day. According to the police, Maya came to the serviced apartment on November 23 to meet her boyfriend. Police suspect that the murder took place on the night of November 24 and Aarav Hanoi spent time with the body till the next day. At 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, he left the apartment and took a cab and switched off the phone.
After he left, when the housekeeping staff came to clean the room, the gate lock was broken and it smelled bad. When the staff opened the gate, the girl's body was found on the bed. After this the police were called. Police reached here along with dog squad and forensic experts.
The police suspected that the murder was planned, the body was to be dismembered Police investigation revealed that Maya Gogoi Deka had multiple stab wounds and head injuries on her body, but the main cause of death is believed to be a deep chest wound. Police checked the CCTV footage, which showed no one entering the apartment between November 23 and November 26.
Police said that during investigation we found that the accused had an old knife with which he allegedly killed the girl. The accused ordered a two meter long nylon rope from the Zepto app, which was delivered to the serviced apartment. The police found a rope cover ordered from the crime scene.
Police say that preliminary investigation suggests that the murder was premeditated. Police are investigating why the accused stayed with the dead body for a day. The police are also probing this angle whether his plan was to dismember the bodies and dispose of them somewhere.
The girl came to Bengaluru six months ago Police said the victim had come to Bengaluru six months ago and had started working in a private company in Jayanagar only 20 days ago. She lived with her sister and a friend in an apartment in the Whitefield area of Bengaluru. Her sister told the police that Maya and the accused were friends.
Police say that the post-mortem report will reveal the day on which the girl was killed. The police have registered a case under Sections 103 (murder) and 238 (disappearance of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code. Apart from this, teams have also been formed to nab the accused.
