The heavy rain in Mumbai that started around 9 pm on Thursday continued till late night. Due to this strong wind, storm and lightning also occurred in many places.
Borivali, including Thane, Mulund, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Dadar, Worli, Andheri-Bandra, received the highest rainfall, the Meteorological Department said. Roads are submerged in water in these areas. According to media reports, some flights have also been affected due to bad weather.
The Meteorological Department has said that there may be heavy rains in Mumbai today. Apart from this, rain warning has also been announced in 29 districts of Maharashtra.
After the departure of Monsoon from the country, the rainy season was over. However, rain is likely in 15 states today. The Meteorological Department has said that Tamil Nadu, Kerala, South Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra, Arunachal Pradesh and Gujarat will receive heavy rainfall between October 12 and 16.
