Fire on 10th floor of 14-storey building in Mumbai: 3 dead, including 2 elderly; The fire brigade brought the fire under control in 1 hour

A fire broke out in the Rhea Palace building of Lokhandwala Complex in Mumbai's Andheri area.

A fire broke out in a 14-storey building in Mumbai's Andheri area on Wednesday morning. 3 people including 2 old people died in the fire.

The fire broke out at around 8 am on the 10th floor of Rhea Palace building in Lokhandwala complex in Andheri area, police said. As soon as the information was received, many cars of the fire brigade reached the spot.

The fire was brought under control after an hour of effort, but by then two elderly people living in the flat and their servant were severely burnt. All three were rushed to Cooper Hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared them brought dead.

The deceased have been identified as Chandraprakash Soni (74), Kanta Soni (74) and Pelubeta (42). Police said the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Complete information will be given only after investigation.

The fire first broke out in the ground floor shop. In a few minutes she reached the first floor.

In October, a fire broke out in a 3-storey building in Siddharth Colony in Mumbai's Chembur area. Due to which 7 people including 3 children of the same family were burnt. The incident took place at 5:20 am on Sunday. An eyewitness said that there was a fire in the shop built on the ground floor.

As soon as the information was received, the fire brigade reached the spot. The fire soon reached the upper floors, but the people trapped there could not be rescued.

The fire brigade brought the fire under control by around 9 pm, after which all the 7 people trapped inside were rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.

Media reports are claiming that the fire was caused by a short circuit. A short circuit caused an explosion in the shop and the fire spread throughout the building.
