Ex-Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh Assaulted: Head injured in stone pelting; Congress said – hooliganism in the state, BJP called it an election stunt

This picture of Anil Deshmukh has surfaced, in which blood is flowing from his head.

Former Maharashtra Home Minister and NCP (Sharad Group) leader Anil Deshmukh was attacked in Nagpur's Katol assembly constituency on Monday night. An unknown person pelted stones at him due to which Anil Deshmukh sustained serious head injuries. A video of Anil has also surfaced. In which blood is seen flowing from his head. He is tied with a handkerchief due to his head injury.

Condemning the attack, Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat said the attack on the former home minister in Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis' district raises the question whether the state is ruled by law or by goons. While BJP has alleged that this is an election stunt. Avinash Thackeray, BJP in-charge of Katol assembly constituency, has said that Deshmukh has made his own workers stoned.

On the last day of the election campaign, Deshmukh campaigned in the area for the whole day. In the evening, their meeting was held in Narkhed. After the meeting, he left for Katol in a car with the workers. Meanwhile, some unknown people pelted stones at his car near Bela Fata.
