Police said the accused, identified as Vignesh, knew the victim since childhood. The two met on Saturday and had a fight. After this, Vignesh set the girl on fire.

Police said the incident took place near Badvel town in Cuddapah district. Vignesh had recently married another girl, but he wanted to maintain a relationship with his ex-girlfriend as well. On Saturday he called his ex-girlfriend and invited her to meet him.
Vignesh threatened to kill him if he didn't get it. Fearing threats, the victim agreed to meet him. She reached to meet him in an auto rickshaw from college. After a few minutes Vignesh also came in the auto. Both reached the Century Plywood Factory, about 10 km from Budwell. An argument ensued between the two and after some time the accused poured petrol on the victim and set her on fire.
The farmers working in the fields informed the police
Hearing the screams of the victim, the farmers working in the field rushed to help. The farmers reported the incident to the police and the fire was extinguished. By then the accused had fled from there. Local people informed the police. Police admitted the victim to Budwell Hospital. Later he was transferred to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Kadapa. The victim suffered 80% burns and is in a critical condition.
Hearing the screams of the girl, the locals came there and helped her in the hospital.
CM Chandrababu ordered the arrest of the accused
Kadapa Superintendent of Police Harsh Vardhan said that four teams have been formed to nab the accused. Preliminary investigation has revealed that both are residents of the same area and have known each other since childhood.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has ordered the police to arrest the accused immediately. He spoke to the officials on phone and inquired about the condition of the girl. Along with this, he also instructed to ensure good treatment to the victim.
