The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided 17 locations in Jharkhand and West Bengal on Tuesday. The case is said to be related to Bangladeshi infiltration, prostitution and money laundering.
According to information, the ED team is investigating financial scams related to cross-border infiltration of some people and organizations.
In the first phase of the Jharkhand assembly elections, voting will be held tomorrow i.e. Wednesday in 43 seats. Also, by-elections are to be held on 6 assembly seats of West Bengal.
The ED team also reached Hotel Skyline in Ranchi.
Bangladeshi girls In connection with prostitution, an FIR was registered
In fact, in June this year, Ranchi police arrested three suspected Bangladeshi girls from Hill View Road Bali Resort in Bariatu Police Station area.
The three arrested girls have been identified as Nimpi Birua, Samreen Akhtar and Neepa Akhtar, residents of Chattogram, Bangladesh. The three girls told the police that with the help of another girl named Manisha Rai, they were brought from Bangladesh through the jungle first to Kolkata and then to Ranchi. She was offered a job in a beauty salon, but here she was forced into prostitution.
An FIR (No. 188/2024) was registered on June 4 at the Bariatu Police Station in Ranchi based on information received from the arrested Bangladeshi girls. The case was registered under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 34 of IPC, Section 12 of Passport Act 1967, Section 14-A of Foreigners Act 1946.
The girls, who were released on bail, had absconded
The three girls, who were arrested by the police from the Bali resort, were granted bail by the court on a personal bond of Rs 10,000 on the condition that they cooperate in the investigation of the case. 20 days ago, when the ED team went to the Bariatu police station to investigate the case, when the station in-charge Manoj Kumar was asked about the whereabouts of the three girls, he said that there was no information about it. The Aadhaar cards seized from the girls by the Bariatu police were also false.
